Game Over. Life and Business Lessons from a Video Games master

How can Space Invaders, Pacman and Angry Birds teach any growing business? Why the hell did we pay $1.6M for a hastily drawn picture of a dragon on a napkin? Why did ET destroy Atari? Find out how you can make your marketing remarkable and join Jason for the answers.

Jason left school with no qualifications and went on to run a video games company worth $136mm. He has spent 25 years in the video games industry as a journalist, marketeer and executive working on some of the most well-known brands in the world – Zumba, Cooking Mama, Civilization, Star Trek, Jaws, F1GP, Robocop, Xcom and many more. He worked as communications director for $5bn toy company Hasbro on brands such as Cluedo, Monopoly, Furby, Action Man and Scrabble and is also the Managing Director and owner of 4Networking – the UK’s only joined up business network running 5,000 business networking meetings each year.

Size doesn’t matter!
Dawn Haymonds (Hoople)

When it comes to accessing funding for training and apprenticeships, it’s sometimes beneficial to be a smaller business.

In this presentation by Dawn Haymonds, on behalf of the Marches Skills Provider Network, Dawn will outline how businesses that employ fewer than 250 staff can access FREE skills training.

Dawn will also be busting some myths about apprenticeships – topmost amongst which will be that apprenticeships are only relevant to large businesses.  Set amongst a backdrop of legislative changes relating to apprenticeships, Dawn will explore how ALL businesses (regardless of size) will be affected and outline how businesses that employ fewer than 50 people can access full Government funding for certain age groups.
